Why?
Why don't we just kill ourselves and call it a night?
We don't have to talk about our problems. We don't have to pretend we're okay. We don't have to tell each other about how our day was.
We don't have to love ourselves. We don't even have to hate ourselves.
We don't have to lie awake on our sides, crying beside each other with our backs turned. We don't have to ask what's wrong.
We don't have to look at our phones for hours for nothing.
We don't have to have friends. We don't have to maintain friendships. We don't have to have fake friends.
We don't have to wash our hands. We don't have to look in the mirrors. We don't have to comb our hair. We don't have to dress fancy.
We don't have to sell ourselves up. We don't have to smile all the time. We don't have to cry.
We don't have to have the energy to deal. We don't have to convince ourselves. We don't have to compel ourselves.
We don't have to feel guilty. We don't have to be happy. We don't have to weigh ourselves with productivity.
We don't have to pour self-love down our throats.
We don't have to toss hatred out. We don't have to laugh mindlessly at movies. We don't have to watch TV. We don't have to listen to music to forget.
We don't have to sleep. We don't have to struggle for sleep. We don't have to have nightmares. We don't have to have dreams.
We don't have to put on make up. We don't have to talk to people.
We don't have to wake up the next morning and go to work, or study, or party. We don't have to not do anything.
We don't have to hold each other's hands. We don't have to console each other. We don't have to fix ourselves.
We don't have to be strong. We don't have to be weak. We don't have to lie to ourselves.
We don't have to carry on our daily charade of being happy for the people who love us. We don't have to lie to them
